This barracks became part of revolutionary legend with the unsuccessful attack upon it of 26 July 1953. The bullet holes visible in the façade, however, are not original. Inside the fortifications, there is now a school and this museum, dedicated to the run-up to the revolution and the M-26 struggle, using documents, photos and models.
