Tucked away in the mountains, this hidden valley is a little slice of paradise. Here among its curious terrain of “mogotes”, tranquillity reigns. Dotted by bohios (palm-leaf roofed houses), a red earth landscape is punctuated by the varied colours of its rich vegetation. As well as the village of Viñales and the Santo Tomás cave, sights include: the mural de la Prehistoria (a painting executed on a hillside), the Casa Taller with unusual sculpture, and the Izquierdo “religious” community.
