Rising on a rock overlooking the Vltava, Krumlov castle is the largest in the land after that of Prague. Endowed with forty or so buildings, it boasts in particular a Renaissance tower and a two-storey bridge which spans the moat separating the main wing from the Baroque theatre and gardens. Among the gems you must not miss are the tower gallery and its view over the rooftops of Krumlov, the chamber of masks decorated in 1748 by Joseph Lederer, the fine collection of Brussels tapestries and a sumptuous carriage dating from 1638.
