The superb golden domes of the Orthodox church of St Peter and St Paul dominate the sophisticated villas and houses built on the sleep slopes to the west of the town. On the edge of the forest stands a statue of "Karl Marx". It is rumoured that the philosopher came here several times. Under the discreet surveillance of the Austrian police, he is said to have written several chapters of Das Capital here. It is a pity that the museum formerly devoted to him has been completely gutted.
