Kutná Hora : Michelin's recommendations
The city of Kutná Hora owes its wealth to its extremely profitable silver deposits. In the Middle Ages it was one of the largest and most active towns in Bohemia, capable of taking on the construction of Ste-Barbe Cathedral, one of the country’s wonders of Gothic architecture, built successively by architects Jan Parler, Benedikt Ried (nave vault) and Matthias Rejsek (choir) from the 14C to the 16C. The discovery of richer veins in Jáchymov signalled its decline. It is nonetheless listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
