The lovely Gothic church of St Giles dominates the north part of town. Its status as the property of the Augustine monastery for many years meant that it belonged to one of the greatest cultural trends of Bohemia. Today still, the presbytery and the cloisters contain lovely murals, and, above all, a wonderful carved Madonna, dating from the mid-15C.
