Boca de Yuma, a peaceful haven and charming fishing village, has until now escaped the ravages of mass tourism. Sleepy and lethargic by day, when the sun sets, rum and merengue bring the village to life. It is also an excellent base camp for boating excursions to the magnificent unspoilt beaches and to explore the Parque nacional del Este and surrounding caves, like Cueva de Bienvenido or Cueva José María.
