This is the ideal destination for adventure sports lovers. Jarabacoa is in the heart of the Cordillera Central and not far from the Pico Duarte (3 090m). This untamed, mountain environment is paradise on earth for hikers, horse riders and mountain bikers and ideal for rafting descents down the turbulent rapids of the Yaque del Norte and Río Jimenoa and canyoning in the lush green vegetation. However, those with less adventurous temperaments will be relieved to know that the pleasant town also enjoys an extremely mild climate.
