Spend the day visiting the rural farms and villages near Puerto Plata. Drive past lush coconut, mango, and coffee plantations. Interact with the local villagers and even visit the school when it's in session.
Lunch is eaten at a ranch and consists of salads, pastas, beef, chicken, rice, beans, vegetables, and tropical fruits. Your meal is followed by a refreshing swim in warm, cascading water surrounded by fruit trees. Stop at a local market on the way back to Puerto Plata and shop for local products including rum, coffee, chocolate, and vanilla.
