Santa María la Menor Cathedral, devoid of belfry and bell tower, is nonetheless a major illustration of Spanish Renaissance, whose façade is adorned with Plateresque, Moorish and Gothic motifs. The vaulted triple nave interior is home to, in addition to 14 chapels, a mausoleum devoted to Alejandro Geraldini, former archbishop of Santo Domingo, to whom we owe this 16C cathedral in coral limestone. Take the time to admire the stained glass windows and, in the Capilla Nuestra Señora de la Antigua, a canvas of the Catholic Kings.
