Get an early start for your morning-long excursion to Abu Simbel. Breakfast is provided as you make your way to the shore of Lake Nasser, home to the Abu Simbel site and its twin temples. Carved out of the mountainside, Abu Simbel commemorates the alleged victory of Pharaoh Ramses II in the Battle of Kadash. Considered one of the most inspiring temples in ancient Egypt, the temple facade features four standing statues of Ramses II, and the breathtaking interior is astonishingly well preserved.
