Journey along the Nile River from Luxor to Dendara. Tour Hathor Temple with a knowledgeable Egyptologist and learn about the area's ancient history.
Depart from your hotel via an air-conditioned private vehicle, make your way to the docks, and board Le Lotus Boat. Head north on the Nile River for approximately 4 hours until you reach Dendara.
Step off the boat, take a short drive to Hathor Temple, and follow an Egyptologist through the historic area. Walk down a path between 2 ancient Roman fountains and find yourself at a massive entry gate where thousands of years of history await. Continue through the temple and peruse the well-restored structures.
Notice the images of Hathor, who was famously depicted as a cow or a woman with a cow's head or horns, throughout the ancient temple. Peruse the 2 onsite birth houses, the Coptic Basilica and the Temple of Isis, and look at the Dendara Zodiac, which dates back to the 1st century B.C.
Separate from your guide and wander the area on your own before heading back to the boat for lunch and your return journey.
