The Rameses II courtyard, the colonnade and the Amenophis III courtyard alone majestically illustrate the history of this temple dedicated to the god Amun and to the celebrations in honour of Otep. Luxor Temple, linked to Karnak Temple by Sphinx Alley, was the starting point for processions of sacred barks loaded with offerings. Note Amenophis III's birth chamber in the naos where the King's mother ritually married Amun-Re.
