Tombs of the Nobles Highly Recommended Highly Recommended Highly Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

Less famous than the two neighbouring royal valleys – despite having been better protected from pillaging – these 500 tombs of high-level officials from Thebes have outstanding New Kingdom decors: brightly coloured hunting and fishing scenes and reliefs of everyday life adorn the tombs of the scribes Nakht (n° 52) and Menna (n° 69) respectively. Funerary illustrations relating to the status of the deceased decorate the tombs of the governors of Thebes, Rekhmire (n° 100), Sennefer (n° 57) and Ramose (n° 55). The sepulture of the royal scribe Khaemhat (n° 57) is one of the few sculpted tombs.
