Meidoum : Michelin's recommendations
Meidum is a quiet little village, not far from which lie the remains of one of the first, if not the first, pyramid, which was built for Snefru. Meidum has a single special feature that makes it a must for anyone looking to solve the mystery of the great Egyptian pyramids. It is also known for its "geese", a rare frieze dating from the Old Kingdom which was painted onto dry plaster. However, it no longer adorns the Nefermaat's mastaba as it has been taken to Cairo, where it is displayed in the Egyptian Museum.
