Port Said Police Administration : Michelin's recommendations
Being a duty-free port, Port Said is the most prosperous city on the Suez Canal. It came into being when the canal was dug in 1859, making it much younger than the country's other major cities, and remains one of the world's principal shipping transit points. With its streets laid out in a Western-style grid, Port Said takes visitors away from the Egypt of the Pharaohs and immerses them in the modern, commercial world. Keep an eye out for the Suez Canal House, which you can recognise by its green dome.
