This villa (early 20C) was bequeathed to the state in 1940 by the editor Amos Anderson. Presidents R Ryti and CG Mannerheim made Tamminiemi their official residence, but it is Urho Kekkonen (1900-1986) who left the most souvenirs. He lived here from his election in 1956 until his death. The house now contains a museum retracing the events, both personal and political, that punctuated his four terms of office. A golden relief by Essi Renvall, watercolours by Aimo Kanerva and Twilight by Akseli Gallen-Kallela are among the Finnish works housed here.
