Magnificently sited, Keuruu straddles four islands at the north end of Lake Keurusselkä. Although at the heart of a traditionally agricultural region, the town has become an important industrial hub. It has an old church, which is one of the finest surviving 18C wood churches, built in 1758 by Antti Hakola (1704-1778).
