Marine Museum : Michelin's recommendations
The boat-shaped entrance to the museum is decorated with figureheads. One of the most famous sailing ships is the Herzogin Cecile, which sunk in the Channel in 1936 on its way back from a victory in a sea race. You can see the captain's cabin, the lounge and kitchen. The steel Pommern four-master stands in front of the museum; it is the only one of its kind to have survived and illustrates the grand era of sailing, when majestic sailing boats - whose future was already threatened by steamships - sailed between Europe and Australia.
