Snappertuna : Michelin's recommendations

The imposing bulk of Raasepori /Raseborg Castle stands atop a rocky outcrop dominating Snappertuna. The original fortress was built in the 14C; since the 15C it has been an important administrative centre, prized by Danes, Swedes and pirates for its strategic significance. A path leads to Forngården, an authentic 18C Halstö island farm. The wood church in the centre of Snappertuna dates from 1688. The interior, notably the pulpit (1701) and galleries, have striking painted decoration.
