This concrete church locally known as "the silo of souls" is a bold creation by architects Reima and Raili Pietilä, dating from 1966. The absence of columns gives an astonishing impression of elevation (30m) and avoids any obstacle obstructing vision or sound. Eighteen windows run from the ground to the ceiling thereby allowing the greenery outside to be seen from within. For Reima Pietilä, this was a work of art which required attention to every detail of the ornamentation and furnishings, in the belief that these contributed to the overall harmony of the design.
