Founded in 1900 by a teacher, Nils Oskar Jansson, this is Finland’s oldest open-air museum, today comprising 23 buildings, among which are an old school, Tjuda Pedagogium, and an 18C courthouse. The founder’s house also stands here, where he lived with Adèle Weman, his wife who was equally enthusiastic and well-informed with regard to historic buildings. Numerous events take place at weekends.
