Imperial chapel : Michelin's recommendations

Napoleon had been wanting to erect a mausoleum for the imperial family, so, in 1857, he ordered this chapel whose large dome was painted in trompe-l'oeil by the artist native to Ajaccio, Jerôme Maglioli. Inside there is a beautiful Coptic Christ which Napoléon brought from Egypt for his mother. In the circular crypt lie several members of his family, among them Princess Clémentine of Belgium and Prince Victor who died in Brussels in 1926.
