Altkirch : Michelin's recommendations
At the heart of the Sundgau region (famous for its furniture and traditional costume), Altkirch retains the ancient church of St Christophe, dating back to the early Christian era, as well as a deep-seated Arts and Crafts tradition. Many potters settled here in the 19C, along with the Sutter printing works (Épinal's main competitor), which was known throughout the region for its popular images. The country around Altkirch is perfect for walks and fishing trips.
