In this street (formerly called Rue de la Bassinerie) the middle classes lived in the even numbers, the workers in the odd numbers: crossing the street one way or the other was imbued with important social significance! There is a house in Art Nouveau style on the corner with the Rue Croix-des-Teinturiers, an individual house from 1738 at no.2 (Chamber of Commerce and Industry) a building in brick and stone at no.10 (Regional Chamber of Commerce) and half-timbered houses at nos 14 and 16.
