This small town is famous for its vineyard (Sylvaner, Riesling, and especially Gewurtztraminer) and iced ginger bread. The annual Wine Feast is held at the Town Hall around 14 July. The Grape Harvest Feast takes place on the first Sunday in October. Barr is also an industrial town, with renowned tanneries. The 17C Town Hall and 18C Folie Marco House are worth seeing. The latter houses a museum with furniture, earthenware, china, pewterware and local mementos.
