The museum is housed in the former Carthusian Monastery priory (1598-1792). It is devoted to the history of Molsheim and its region, from Prehistoric times to today. After the arrival of Jesuits, Capuchins and Carthusians, Molsheim became the religious capital of Alsace in the 17C. In another building, the Bugatti Foundation displays family mementoes and a few models of cars produced here between the two World Wars. There are two canon houses opposite the museum.
