The superb collection at the French Railway Museum retraces the “Golden Age of Rail” (1844-1960) via displays that recall aspects such as holiday travel, the lives of railwaymen etc. Don’t miss the carriage decorated by Viollet-le-Duc for the aides de camp of Napoleon III, nor the one by Lalique, designed in 1925 for the President of the Republic. The second building, which has the appearance of a train station, highlights the chronological story of the “Adventure of the Railways”.
