In 1836 Narcisse Gréno founded the company and soon afterwards it joined with L.-A Pommery. It was his widow who promoted the «Brut» champagnes. She had the current buildings built in Elizabethan style and also linked up 120 old «crayères» with a further 18 km of galleries. The Pommery house has now one of the most attractive wine growing areas in Champagne (300 ha). A visit will allow you to go through the «crayères» and to see a large cask of 75,000 litres made by Emile Gallé.
