This museum of popular arts occupies three 16C-17C houses that are worth a visit in their own right. A maze of staircases and wooden galleries around the inner courtyards leads to numerous small rooms with typical Alsatian charm. Admire collections of clothing, images, toys, masks made of flour, as well as various reconstructions, including the laboratory of an apothecary/alchemist, and bedrooms with wood panelling furnished with box beds, painted wooden furniture, and monumental stoves.
