Toul
: Michelin's recommendations
On the banks of the River Moselle, Toul has since Antiquity enjoyed its privileged position on the main thoroughfare between Lyons and Trèves. In 1914, the city, (one of the “three dioceses”) was considered one of the best defended places in Europe. As a result, nobody tried to attack it. Visitors to Toul will discover the Gothic art of the Champagne region, a beautiful cathedral, and admire the magnificent cloister of Saint-Gengoult, before tasting Toul's famous vin gris.
