This old municipal hostelry was renovated by the town in 1620. It has an attractive loggia with carved beams.

This square is lined with old houses. On the right is the barrack-room with a fountain just in front. At the far end of the square, the town hall has a Renaissance gable. The old church is surmounted by a tower with Romanesque foundations.

Facing Quai de la Fecht, the gateway opens onto a massive, four-sided, 14C tower with a storks' nest.

Many of the houses date back to the late 16C and early 17C. Note the particularly attractive half-timbered house with an oriel window set on a wooden pillar.

This was one of the three main gateways to Turckheim, a town enclosed by ramparts and protected by fearsome warriors.
