Hohlandsbourg Castle Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

This castle was formerly the county town of one of the seigniories of the Habsbourgs. Its construction started in 1279. In 1563, it was acquired and modernised by Lazare of Schwendi, adviser of Emperor Maximilian II. It was destroyed during the Thirty Year. War. In 16C it was restored and adapted for the artillery, which explains the presence of several guns. From the castle, there is a view of the Pflixbourg Donjon and the summit of the Hohneck to the West.
