Charroux : Michelin's recommendations

One of “France’s Most Beautiful Villages”, Charroux (alt 413m) boasts a fantastic panoramic view of the Puys mountains to the south and the Limagne plain to the north. Don’t miss the guided tour of the village and its medieval past. Chantelle Benedictine abbey stands a few kilometres north, perched on a steep promontory. The church nave, containing pillars with beautiful, well-preserved capitals, is open to the public. The nuns living in the monastery sell home-made soaps and eaux de toilette.
