This 15C fortified castle was built in order to defend the border between Burgundy and the Beaujolais region. The Madeleine-Ragny family coat of arms is set above the main dungeon entrance. The interior courtyard has pretty Renaissance galleries. And, to remind you that you really are in the Beaujolais region, the castle is located in the middle of a vineyard and retains an exceptional 17C fermenting cellar.
