This display of 1 500 objects chosen from the museum’s 80 000 piece collection takes visitors on a journey through the city’s history and development, from its time as the capital of Gaul to the present day. Exhibits include plans and paintings that offer a fascinating insight into the different faces of the city over the centuries. Anecdotal exhibits, such a ticket to cross a wooden bridge, add a sense of everyday life in the city.
