Musée du Vivarais Protestant
Musée du Vivarais Protestant : Michelin's recommendations
This small museum occupies the house in which Pierre Durand, a pastor during the “Désert” period of the 18C, was born. His sister, Marie Durand, was imprisoned for 38 years in the Constance tower in Aigues-Mortes and is said to have carved the famous word "RÉSISTER" on the walls of her cell, which would lend its name to the Resistance movement against the Nazis three centuries later.
