The «Boulevard de la Réforme» - that is the nickname of Privas which underlines the role played by the Ardech town in defense of the illustration of new ideas. In fact, a local priest, Jacques Valéry, encouraged Protestantism in this town. Today, the little town turns its back on all polemic and is now the capital of the marron glacé, or glacéd chestnut. And so it is besieged once again - by lovers of sweet things gathered in front of the shops!
