Note the bas-reliefs on the monument to the dead representing the vocero, the Corsican mourning song. The statue of Napoleon dressed as a Roman emperor is by Florentine sculptor Bartolini.

    J'ai aimé La Maison Mattei, beau batiment au bord de la Place ST Nicolas, avec ses sculptures sur les façades, en fronton et ses vitrines.... image rétro peut être, mais j'ai eu coup de coeur par l'ensemble avec les petits bistrots, cafés, les terrasses sympathiques et la paix ressentie en traversant cette place par une superbe journée ensoleillée de septembre 2009. En groupe, pas eu le temps d'apprécier encore plus et d'entrer dans la boutique Matei ! promis j'y retourne au printemps 2010!
