The coming and going of cartloads oysters, merchants and the return of fishing boats during high tide contribute to provide a special atmosphere to this highly frequented place. The port is bordered by a picturesque quarter built against the cliff, with narrow streets where deep-sea fishermen used to live. A road, the Vaubaudet or Val du Baudet, connected this port to the village of Cancale, the upper quarter where the «landowners» and the shopkeepers used to live.
