This 30-m high artificial hill was created by ballast from ships loading salt, from 1814 to 1816. Its name originates from a distortion of «lest pris» («ballast taken»). From the top of the tower, you can see salterns and Batz Island to the East or Le Croisic and the ocean to the West.
