First, this small mound was a ballast depot, on which trees were planted in 1761. From here, you can see views of Le Tréhic harbour and jetty (850 m long) or Pen Bron dyke (1724) and its Marine Centre. A monument sculpted by René Paris, in 1919, is a reminder of the feat performed by a helmsman called Hervé Rielle, who saved 22 vessels of the French Fleet after the La Hougue disaster in 1692.
