Le Faouët Travel guide
Le Faouët : Michelin's recommendations
In Breton, fauo means “beech”, but now only the name suggests the erstwhile and ubiquitous presence of this tree. While today the countryside is deforested, the town remains at the heart of a picturesque region rich in architectural heritage. The 16C market building at the heart of the town is remarkable for its beams and slate roof. A little out of town are the chapels of St Fiacre (fine 1480 roodscreen) and St Barbe, sited in a rocky crevice.
