After travelling the length and breadth of the globe, this oceanographic vessel, launched in 1960 by Ifremer, is enjoying a well-earned retirement at Lorient. The boat's three decks give visitors an insight into life on board, navigation techniques, trawling and oceanographic research. A visitors' centre, devoted to fishing techniques, also houses a temporary exhibition area.
