Within St Malo City Walls Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

Within the old city walls of St Malo you will find narrow cobbled streets and perfectly aligned buildings with granite façades. It's hard to believe that most of them were restored, if not rebuilt, after 1944! In high season and at the weekend the whole area hums with activity as people explore the shops and restaurants concentrated between the château and the cathedral. The town is also close to some fine sandy beaches (Môle, Bon Secours), which begin to unfurl at the foot of the ramparts.

    Un ville qui a typiquement su conserver son aspect ancien dans lequel le dépaysement est assuré. N'oubliez pas d'aller au bassin Vauban ou vous aurez peut-etre la chance de trouver "le Renard", l'un des bateaux de Surcouf, de quoi se prendre soi-même pour un corsaire !

    Cons

    L'esprit corsaire semble se perdre. Lors de ma visite, un voilier traditionnel arborant le pavillon anglais était amarré face au "Renard". Et personne ne réagissait ? A l'abordage, mille tonerres ! A moins qu'il n'ait été capturé ?
