3,500 sq m of the former submarine base are now given over to an exhibition devoted to the legendary age of transatlantic liners including vessels such as the Île de France (1927), Normandie (1927) and France (1962). The tour is designed like a cruise: guests are welcomed on board by the "crew" and are then free to roam at will through the cabins, engine rooms, immigration hold and steerage, captain's bridge, hairdressers, music rooms, piano bar and the luxurious dining room. The cinema sets the scene for an emotion-packed finale.
