In the town centre, standing in an attractive square lined with old houses, is the statue of Ernest Renan (1823-1892) by Jean Boucher. Not far away is the Calvary of Protestation, sculpted by Yves Hernot in 1904 and commissioned by Catholics who were against the statue of the philosopher being erected here.
