The southernmost end of the island, Porz Doun, is bordered with cliffs. This peninsula is also made up of the small port of Lampaul, behind which small fishermen's boats find a safe harbour. Notice the white pyramid of Runiou, used as a seamark for sailing. The Jument lighthouse, built from 1904 to 1912, towers 42 m above and houses a foghorn.
