This gulf, which is about 20km wide and dotted with sixty or so islands and islets, is famous for its beautiful scenery. The light at sunset is particularly memorable, even more so at low tide. Start on the west coast at the Pointe d'Arradon, going past the delightful resort of Larmor-Baden and the pretty port of Auray. The megalithic monuments of Locmariaquer mark the end of your trip, commanding lovely views of the gulf.
