This former monastic fiefdom is the largest (7km long) and most heavily populated island in the Gulf of Morhiban. It's a quiet little seaside resort with a wide variety of flora: mimosa, camellias, palms, orange and lemon trees. From the port of Lerio it's a short distance to the pretty little streets of the market town of Port-Miquel. At the north of the island you will find the Pointe de Trech (an odd wayside cross on a large plinth) looking out over the Pointe d'Arradon and the bay; to the south, the portal tombs of Boglieux and Penhap; to the east, the Pointe de Brouhel, from which the view extends over the Île d'Arz.
